This is all absolutely true. I've found it both in finances and in health. Sometimes it takes a bit of a catharsis to get us to shed old habits - I was (mis)diagnosed with lung cancer, which led to quite a freak out and diet change. When I found out, two weeks later, that it was not lung cancer at all (strange story), my fiancee and I had already started on a cleansing program with a nutritionist.

Thing is, after that three week cleansing program, I found myself with new habits. Eating raw foods, avoiding coffee and alcohol... I feel like a new person. And my finances mirror that also - I decided to get serious about putting money in my Roth, bought a house, and now I'm focused on paying it off. This is all in a period of two or three months!

Yeah, habits are incredibly powerful. It's important to remind yourself that moving forward, moving up, getting better... these are all priorities. They are good and important. They are all made or lost, day by day. Or as Dylan said, "he not busy being born is busy dying."

Read my blog (brigleb.com) for my ongoing thoughts... and thanks for Mutual Improvement. I love it.
